








Why PADI Ice Diver?
To familiarize yourself with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving under ice.
What do I need to start?
Must be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Minimum age requirement is 18 to earn a PADI Ice Diver Certification.
What will I do?
| Be able to explain the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of diving under the ice. |
| Familiarize yourself with the use of special equipment, safety lines, signals, communications, line tending, and line securing techniques and procedures. |
| Be able to engage in dives to explore ice environments found within depths and conditions as good as or better than those in which you have been trained safely and enjoyable. |

What will I need?
| * All your own standard diving equipment |
| * Exposure suit appropriate for ice diving environment. If dry suit is used, you must have previous experience with its use and control. |
| * Crampons or slip-on spikes for walking on ice |
| * Personal clothing for exposure protection at the surface. Sunglasses, Hat, Long underwear, Heavy insulated layer, Wind proof outer jacket and pants, two pairs of mitts (not gloves) in case first pair get wet |
| * Plenty of food and nonalcoholic beverages, preferable water and juices |
| * Two Dive lights |

Once you have completed your PADI Ice Diver Specialist Course, you can continue the adventure with PADI's other Specialty Courses such as Search & Recovery Diver, Wreck Diver, or Cavern Diver just to name a few.
